There is something about Sloane. Tommy is letting Merton ask her to the prom. Lori is going with a freshman. Sloane tries to kiss Tommy and Merton thinks that Tommy had betrayed him. Merton tries to ask her to the prom and she kisses him. The next day Tommy and Lori haven't seen Merton at all, literally even thought he is right in front of them.
