"Freedom – lost, then regained. Truth – hidden, then unveiled?"

Five years ago, Hong Kong citizen YAN TING (SO YUK WAH, LOUISA) was wrongly found guilty of murdering her husband LAU KAI CHUNG (WAN SIU LUN, DERIC) in Taiwan.

TING is released and returns to Hong Kong. She still believes in justice and has faith in regaining what has been stripped from her. She is shocked when she meets a man BEN YUEN (also played by WAN SIU LUN, DERIC) who looks exactly like CHUNG. However, CHUNG was certified dead in Taiwan. TING is completely bewildered at BEN’s existence. The truth is slowly revealed. TING decides to strike back. BEN sets TING up for jail again. Fortunately, she meets a warm-hearted lawyer LEO LAW (LAM, BOWIE). LEO works hard on her case. His effort seems to have paid off when he digs further into the truth...

At the last moment, TING changes her mind and lets Ben go. SUET is surprised to find the information relates to LOK in a safe. She later knows that Ben has sacked the employee who has work in TIN KWAN for many years; Ben refuses to sign to let YEE terminate her pregnancy when her sickness gets worse; Ben shouts at the crucifix. SUET becomes suspicious and she hands over the information of LOK to LEO. Ben receives the message that LOK has cancer, and he together with TING fly to the USA. It is a pity that the bone marrow of TING does not fit that of LOK. Ben loses his temper but he is not willing to have a blood test. Feeling painful, TING swallows corrosive chemicals to commit suicide, and only at that point when Ben is willing to have blood test. When LOK wakes up, Ben knows that he is trapped. For escape, Ben uses the life of his son as threat. Can Ben escape? LEO sends YING to a boarding school abroad, to which YING is disgusted……
