Mix it altogether with old inappropriate friends, 2goats, mood swings, a pinch of doubt and a few famous faces. This is a laugh out loud funny look at the very real ups and downs involved in relationships, with hilarious conclusions.
I have seen a few shows like this one, where real celebrities sort of play themselves, but to varying extents fictional versions of themselves. I liked the result in the case of The Trip, with Steve Coogin and Rob Bryson. This show didn’t really work for me, however.
There were funny moments here and there, but part of me. Perhaps Bobby is periodically a jerk as he portrays himself here, but it came across to me as someone trying to be outrageous. It reminded of a story I heard where a woman invented a bold and somewhat aggressive persona when she auditioned to be on the reality show “Survivor.” She got on the show just fine, but then she decided to just be herself and she was the first voted off the island. She was a person, not a character. Shows like Bobby & Harriet also require characters.
