Szestowica’s inhabitants form a strong community. During the Russian occupation their houses were demolished, belongings stolen, and a couple of their loved ones remain on the frontlines. Despite the drawbacks, the villagers do their best to simply live and work. Their efforts to ignore the war collapse when explosions reach the village and yet another person is brought back home in a simple wooden coffin.
