Yalung Kang: Pioneers Of The Mountain

In 1980, six students from UNAM embarked on the first Mexican expedition to the Himalayas, aiming to conquer Mount Kanchenjunga West, also known as Yalung Kang. Despite the lack of national interest in mountaineering and minimal media coverage, these young pioneers sought to achieve a remarkable feat for Mexico by scaling an eight-thousand-meter peak, demonstrating courage and determination in the face of societal indifference.
