In the late 20th century, the need for a new radio and television tower in Pudong led my grandfather and his colleagues to undertake a feasibility study in Shanghai. As a result of Chinese Economic Reform, my hometown's urban landscape has rapidly evolved, changing daily throughout the modernization process. Today, it looks completely different from the city I knew as a child—there, yet not there. At times, I find myself losing track of time, drifting through memories that circulate and return.
