Or a cruel and unnecessary way of using animals as entertainment, far from their natural habitats?  This short film explores the good and bad sides of zoos – and looks at how the best zoos are evolving to better meet the needs of their inhabitants. It also explores the future of the zoo – and asks whether new technology will enable us to have a different relationship with animals.
