Gonçalo Runa

February 23, 2000 — Barreiro, Portugal

Gonçalo Runa, born on February 23, 2000, in Barreiro, Portugal, is a young adventurer and cycling enthusiast. Hailing from Azeitão, a parish in Setúbal, Gonçalo discovered his passion for exploring the world at an early age, inspired by a family trip to the Netherlands in 2015. In April 2019, he embarked on his first cycling journey, riding from Azeitão to Alcácer do Sal with friends.

Determined to continue his adventures, he sold water bottles on the streets of Setúbal to fund his first solo expedition: a 65-day bike trip from Azeitão to Andorra, covering the Portuguese and Spanish coasts. Since then, he has visited 15 countries, nine of them by bicycle, driven by an unyielding ambition to explore more, discover new cultures, and learn from every experience. Gonçalo Runa is a testament to determination and a love for the freedom the world has to offer.
