Yiğit Altar Batuk was born in Istanbul in 2002. In 6th grade, he decided to shoot short films and edit videos with his classmates. In 2014, he and his friend were deemed worthy of their videos (A short video called Those Moments) by Istanbul Kid & Art Biennial. In 2017, he made his first short film and its sequel, Unkown Knife, Unkown Knife 2. In 2018, he made another short film called Better Hours. After that, he began to submit for some festivals and competitions in Turkey. In 2019, he joined his first competition in a video category. His project was called Out of Design. He won the 9th International Design Week (Eastern Mediterranean University): Awkward Design video Competition in first place. In 2019, he won The Turkish Language Foundation's Ombudsman (Kindness in Public) Short Movie competition with an honorable mention. In 2019, he made other short films called Magic Store, Kid & Art. In 2020, he graduated from high school in Istanbul. He is currently a cinema student at Kadir Has University since 2020. In 2021, Yiğit acted in a Vodafone Freezone commercial. He worked in the media department for the university's corporate communications. In 2023, He made his first Short film (H.O.M.E.) with a crew. H.O.M.E. was selected to various festivals (TNFF New York Film Festival (Nominated for Best International Short Film), Lift-Off Amsterdam & Berlin (Nominated for Best Short Film), and Canada Shorts Film Festival (Award of Distinction)). After completing his six-month Erasmus program in the 2023/24 fall semester in Berlin, he made another short film called Sparks 2048. He won the game-themed Kadir Has International Short Film Competition in second place.
