Xiao He

Xiao He (小河) is a Chinese music composer and folk singer. He is the third son of He Pingsuo (何萍所) and Tian Qiaoyun (田巧云). In 2002, he released his first solo album The High-Flying Bird Will Not Land on the Back of the Slow-Running Cow (飞得高的鸟不落在跑不快的牛的背上), followed by Performance of Identity (身份的表演) in 2009 and Love Song of a Fool (傻瓜的情歌) in 2011. He is also the lead singer of the experimental rock band Glamorous Pharmacy (美好药店). The group self-released the albums Please Enlarge My Cousin's Photograph (请给我放大一张表妹的照片) in 2005 and Rumbling Footsteps (脚步声阵阵) in 2008. In 2010, he began a year-long project called Music Portrait (音乐肖像). He lived with an ordinary person for a day every month and wrote one song for each of them. In 2014, he released Xiao He: The Collection of Film Music 2006–2013 (小河配乐作品集2006-2013) which includes original music he composed for the films Fly With The Crane, Don’t Expect Praises, The Love Songs Of Tiedan, Mid-afternoon Barks, Luxury Car, The Case, and No.89 Shimen Road.
