Syrian filmmaker, choreographer, and dancer Eyas al Mokdad holds an M.A. in Audio-Visual Arts, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), Ghent (2021), an M.A. in Transmedia - Audio-Visual Arts, LUCA School of Arts, Brussels (2013) and a B.A. in Ballet Dance from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Damascus (2005). Eyas has directed several films, including The Last Time (2006), Dancers and Walls (2010), Dough (2011), Bloodshed (2012), Under the Tank (co-directed with Orwa al Mokdad, 2014), The Other Half of Your Shadow (2015) and The Hangar (2019) and Mother Daughter (2021). His artistic work focuses on political and social issues and examines contemporary art, cinema, and theatre.
