John Lester Rimorin is a Philippine-based freelance filmmaker passionate about creating short films centered on children and youth. His first vertical short film, LIMOS, won Best Children's Film at the Manila Student Short Film Festival and was a finalist in Vidsee Jury Philippines 2020, with selections at international festivals such as the VerticalMovie Film Festival 2019 in Rome, Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth 2019 in India, and Moinho CineFest 2020 in Portugal. He also directed and produced LAOT, a vertical short film that won the "Special Citation Works for/by/on Children" at CCP Gawad Alternatibo 2021 and was showcased at various international festivals, including Asian Cinematography Awards, VerticalMovie in Rome, Linea d'Ombra Festival in Italy, Vertifilms Prague in the Czech Republic, Ojo Móvil Fest in Peru, and China International New Media Short Film Festival 2021. Previously, he worked as a technical associate at Cinema Centenario, a now-defunct microcinema in Quezon City known for championing Philippine cinema. Currently, he is pursuing a degree in Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
