Richard Price

Richard Price was a British film, television and stage producer. He was the first editor of the medical new magazine Pulse, first published in March 1960. After two years at Pulse, he left the magazine to work for ITV Granada’s international sales team. In 1968, he founded a production company, Richard Price Television Associates (RPTA). In 1980, RPTA evolved into the independent distributor Primetime Group. In 1998, the Primetime Group was sold to Southern Star Australia. At the same time, Price reverted back to producing with RPTA Limited. In 1986, He was made a Fellow of the Royal Television Society. From 1991 to 1993, he served as the BAFTA Chair. He was Chairman of The Watermill Theatre for six years until October 2007. He was also Chair of the independent production and distribution group DCD Media Limited between 2000 and 2004, and then held the position of Board Director until 2008, when he was named President Emeritus.
