Before beginning his career in filmmaking, Joshua S. Bischof spent much of his life traveling and working on humanitarian aid missions in Asia. Through this work and travel he developed a passion for telling authentic human stories, and then took that passion to film school in Kona, Hawaii. After completing film school he taught in the school for two years, mentoring film students in writing, producing, directing, and editing their short films.
While in Hawaii Joshua wrote and directed numerous short films and worked on a number of feature films such as The Heart of Man and the award-winning Midori in Hawaii. These experiences taught him that skilled craftsmanship can create a film that outshines its budget.
Recently he wrote and directed two independent international feature films: the award-winning feature documentary Burn With Us and the feature film Zwielichts Pilgrim. Through these and his future films, Joshua aims to tell stories that bring cast and crew together as collaborators, to create art that both challenges and elevates audiences.
