Hanan El-Taweel is an Egyptian transgender actress. She began her career in 1999 with a small role in the movie (Aboud Ala El Hedod), after which she participated in the play (Hakim Oyoun) with Alaa Wali Al-Din and Ahmed Helmy. After that, she presented small roles in some movies such as (Al-Nazer), (Ayez Haqqi) and (Askar fi Al-Maskar).

She was severely attacked by her neighbors after she decided to undergo a sex change operation, to the extent that they filed a complaint against her to the police, which ended with her detention in the Abbasiya mental hospital. She died suddenly in 2004 at the age of 38, and there were many rumors about her death, some of them said that she died during an electrocution session, and others said that she died by suicide, or she died of a heart attack, and none of these claims have been confirmed so far.
