Younes Shalaby

May 30, 1941 — El Mansoura, Egypt

Younis Ali Youssef Shalaby was born in Dakahleya. He achieved his degree from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1969, and started acting in the theater. He especially shone in the comedy The Delinquents in 1973 and The Kids Have Grown Up. He started acting in cinema in Shadows on the Other Side (1975). He received an honorary award for his role in the movie Lovers Under 20. He was also involved in several series such as: Eyes, Women Don’t Do This, and his role in the famous children’s program “Boogi and Tamtam”.

The late actor was married to his relative and had several kids from her. He is considered one of the biggest comedy icons in modern Egyptian cinema.
