Laurence Ly

Of Cambodian and Vietnamese origin, born in a refugee camp in Thailand and a Canadian citizen, Laurence Ly directed his first self-financed feature film Marche avec moi with his friends over the course of a summer in 2014. He returned to school to obtain a master’s degree in communication, cinema and moving image in 2017. In 2022, he directed Les Lauriers (web series) and Correspondance (short documentary) and obtained a diploma from L’inis in directing. He is currently filming Le petit panier à roulettes, a short film that received a grant from the CAC and CALQ. Laurence is also a videographer and photographer and is a curator and film programmer for the Accès Asie Festival.
