Steve Segal

May 1, 1949 — Richmond, Virginia, U.S.

Steve Segal is an animator who attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He produced several student films, some of which were submitted to the Cannes Film Festival, winning several awards. In the early 1980s, he co-directed the film 'Futuropolis' in Richmond with Phil Trumbo, which has become a cult classic. After completing 'Futuropolis,' he moved from the East Coast to the West, working on various projects, including animated commercials. After about ten years in California, he landed a job at Pixar as an animator on 'Toy Story' (1995). Currently, Steve is still with Pixar, working on in-house development/projects as well as commercials.
