Alexis Bisticas

January 1, 1964 — Athens - Greece

Alexis Bisticas was born in Athens in 1964. He was the son of journalists Vangelis and Eleni Bistika. He studied political science at the London School of Economics (London School of Economics), then received an MA degree in communication from the College Goldsmith (Goldsmith's College) of the University of London, and a Masters in directing film and television from the Royal College of Arts (Royal College of Art). He directed nine short films, including 'The Clearing', starring Derek Jarman, and one feature, 'Dawn'. He died of AIDS on September 29, 1995. In 2005, he was posthumously awarded the Golden Alexander at the 46th Thessaloniki Film Festival.
