Mehmet Aydın Arakon (22 May 1918, Edirne - 11 August 1982, Istanbul ), director, screenwriter.

After graduating from Işık High School, Aydın Arakon studied architecture for a while and then at Istanbul University Faculty of Law. He dropped out of both schools. He started writing stories during his high school years. Together with his schoolmate Sabahattin Kudret Aksal, they published a literary magazine called Sokak , which did not last long. After a while, Arakon started writing screenplays, and in 1948, he joined Yeşilçam and started directing the following year, which he continued together with writing screenplays. Known for his investigative personality, the artist became famous with the film Fosforlu Cevriye . He is the brother of the director of photography İlhan Arakon.
