René Múgica

René Mugica (August 8, 1909, Carhué, Buenos Aires, Argentina - May 3, 1998, Buenos Aires, Argentina) was an Argentine actor and film director.

He studied at the School of Dramatic Art of the Provincial Institute of La Plata, and made several presentations as a theater actor. In 1940 he made his film debut with a small role in the film "La carga de los valientes", directed by Adelqui Millar. He was part of the initial team of Associated Argentine Artists and worked as an assistant director before making "El centroforward died at dawn" in 1960, his first film. He carried out union work as president of DAC (Argentine Film Directors) and when he resigned he was appointed honorary president of the entity. He was also director of INCAA (National Institute of Cinematography).

He passed away on May 3, 1998 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
